In the bottom of the 10th inning of a 4-4 deadlock between the two top-15 teams, Texas Tech had the winning run on third base in utility man Kurt Wilson, with outfielder Dillon Carter at the plate. Carter didn’t even get the chance to bring in Wilson, who had bolted towards home plate before Texas reliever Aaron Nixon could even begin his wind-up. Wilson stole home and Texas Tech stole a 5-4 win over the No. 2-ranked Longhorns in Lubbock.
Pandemonium ensued as Wilson triumphantly slid headfirst into home plate, as the delirious Red Raider celebrations spilled over to the front of the Texas dugout — intentionally.
