'So many WASPI are dying before they get on with it'
Campaigners from the Women Against State Pension Inequality group have issued an update on their long-running 'fight for justice' following a meeting with an MP.
They also stated that Mr Hanvey 'pledged to do whatever he can in support'. An estimated 3.8 million women saw their retirement plans plunged into chaos after the Department for Work and Pensions increased the state pension age from 60 to 65 in 2010, and later 66.
In a post on the WASPI Facebook page on Tuesday , a spokesperson said: "Yesterday WASPI met with Alba Party MP Neale Hanvey. A long time supporter of WASPI, he expressed his disappointment at the length of time it's taking the Ombudsman to complete the investigation. The post has received more than 2,200 likes and over 300 comments. One WASPI supporter said: "Thank you for continuing to support the plight of WASPI women.
