WASPI 'back to 60' campaign calls for 'full restitution' after pension age decision
A campaigning group of women are calling for the Department of Work and Pensions to issue "full restitution" to all woman who were impacted by the change in State Pension ages.
Another person asked: "When will the Ombudsman get his finger out and let us know his revised findings on Stage 2? FULL RESTITUTION is the only fair solution!" WASPI are currently awaiting the publication of the final report from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman into the way the DWP managed the age rise. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday , North Ayrshire and Arran MP Patricia Gibson explained how a recently published WASPI survey documents the "devastating impact of the unfair pension treatment of 1950s-born women".
Ms Mordaunt responded: "That is a matter for the Department for Work and Pensions. Given that there will not be an opportunity to talk to the Secretary of State in this House until the autumn, I will make sure that he has heard what the hon. Lady has said today.In July 2021, the PHSO’s stage 1 investigation ruled that the DWP failed to communicate the age changes to women born in the 1950s with enough urgency, finding it guilty of ‘maladministration’, the Daily Record reports.
