Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson is expected to sit out for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks
SAN FRANCISCO — Klay Thompson is listed as out with an illness for the Warriors’ game Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center.
Thompson is not in the NBA’s COVID health and safety protocols, but is listed as having a general illness. He was listed as questionable on the injury report on Saturday. Thompson, 32, is the only surprise addition to Sunday’s latest injury report. As expected, Andre Iguodala , Draymond Green and James Wiseman remain out nursing injuries.
This will be the sixth game Thompson will sit out since his grand return on Jan. 9. To manage his workload following two major surgeries on his ACL and Achilles, Thompson has not been playing back-to-backs. The All-Star shooting guard is on a 30 minute restriction that is expected to go up to at least 38 minutes come playoffs. He’s shooting 42% from the field and 39% from beyond the arc in 17 games played this season, averaging 17 points and three assists per game.
