Carvajal has been working for Muni for 36 years. He hadn't yet made it to a Warriors game, despite taking passengers to, from and past Chase Center on the T-Third line since the arena's opening in 2019. “Since the moment that I opened the door to come into the stadium, it was very special to me,” Carvajal told SFGATE. “It was very beautiful, very great.”Muni was contacted by the Warriors' communications team in an effort to highlight an operator of the Central Subway's T-Third route, Muni deputy spokesperson Stephen Chun said. The agency then hand-picked Carvajal to receive the tickets.
“We wanted to choose an employee from our transit staff who exemplifies a model example of exceptional customer service and is also dedicated to his colleagues to serve as a mentor and a teacher,” Chun said.
