The DVLA has issued the warning
A waning has ben issued to UK drivers over the age of 70. Motorists past this age will have to renew their driving licence every three years.
The Daily Record reports anyone who does not renew their licence and continues to drive will be committing a serious offence. Since the licence and insurance will not be valid, it can result in a fine of £1,000 or a ceased vehicle.However, an expired licence does not mean you have to stop driving - all you have to do is to renew it.
The online process is straightforward and the replacement should arrive in one week. Here is what you need to do to apply.
