Convoy in the Park will return to Donington Park on Saturday, August 10
Drivers have been warned of possible delays on roads surrounding East Midlands Airport ahead of a major weekend event. This comes as Convoy in the Park, a truck racing event, is due to return to Donington Park on Saturday, August 10.
Roads surrounding the airport include the M1, the A42, and the A453. National Highways said: "Roads near East Midlands Airport may be busy this weekend due to Convoy in the Park at Donington Park." Convoy in the Park, which concludes on Sunday, August 11, will see racing headlined by the British Truck Racing Championship and the International Truck Prix, totalling nine races across the weekend.The British Truck Racing Championship is the biggest one of its kind in the UK, organisers have said, and features heavyweight pack of five-tonne 1,000hp racing machines that rival sports cars for acceleration.
Off track entertainment will also be on offer, with a live action arena featuring live music, display areas, and a kids zone all available for attendees to enjoy. Prices start at £29 for over-16s for one-day admission, with weekend admission tickets costing £45.
