The Dow Jones industrial average was up 235 points, or 0.7%, as of 9:45 a.m. Eastern, and the Nasdaq composite was 0.4% higher. Treasury yields were climbing after falling last week on worries that fighting in Gaza will escalate. The price of gold also slipped as last week’s flight toward safer investments waned.
