'The smell is unbearable in the summer time.'
Carmarthenshire pizza cheese factory smells unbearable, say residents Residents of a Welsh village claim they have been left gagging over the odour from a nearby cheese-making factory. Dairy Partners Ltd in Aberarad, near Newcastle Emlyn, produces hundreds of tonnes of mozzarella a week for putting on pizzas. But locals have lost any taste for Italian or rarebit due to the smell and noise coming from the site.
A new effluent treatment plant has also not gone down well with Carmarthenshire Council who gave Dairy Partners advice about the plans in 2019. The BBC report said that the company had been advised by the local authority not to continue work at an early stage while the area for the proposed build was being cleared. A spokesman on behalf of the company said complaints about the site had been addressed.
