Just hours after the Biden-Harris campaign unveiled a new ad bragging on the administration’s efforts to save the economy, a new survey has revealed that voters just aren’t buying it.
In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, 52% said that the economy has gotten “worse” under Biden while 31% say that it is better.And when asked who to blame for the “current problems in the economy,” most -- 42% -- blame Biden, with Republicans in Congress a distant second at 29%.
As is typical in political surveys, the Democrat-Republican split on the issue is large, with 51% of Democrats seeing an improved economy under Biden and 79% of Republicans a failed economy. The economic survey, a regular Rasmussen feature, was released as the White House was readying a new 2024 campaign ad on at a Thursday NFL opening game broadcast, part of the president's national tour to promote"Bidenomics."
The campaign announced that its ad, titled “Got to Work,” will air in battleground states and on national cable networks, as well as on digital and Connected TV during Thursday’s primetime season opener between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs.The ad claims that Biden saved the economy, lowered costs and brought back well-paying jobs, claims polls show the public doesn’t believe.
“President Biden led an unprecedented economic recovery and is overseeing a historic legislative agenda that is creating good-paying jobs across the country, lowering costs for hardworking Americans, and bringing manufacturing back to the United States,” said Michael Tyler, Biden-Harris 2024 spokesman.
