Businesses and other organisations will soon miss out on a discount to their bills
An energy support scheme is set to end by the end of the month, affecting businesses across the country.
While the discount is coming to an end, those affected still have other options available to help slash their energy costs. Les Roberts, a business energy comparison expert at Bionic, has issued his advice for what a business' next steps should be.How can businesses prepare for the end of the scheme? Les said: "The first step is to come to terms with the type of contract your business is on and when it is set to end.
“You can check your bills are correct by taking regular meter readings to send to your supplier or asking your supplier if they can take specific steps to keep your bills accurate, like installing a smart meter or a half-hourly meter if your business uses a lot of electricity.” "They might be able to review your contract or agree on a new payment plan that is more manageable for your business. You can ask for more time to pay, access to hardship funds, payment breaks or a review of your payments in some cases.
