During a visit to Shanghai, China, Vice President Amin conveyed the reputation of Indonesia's halal certification standards. Apart from that, Indonesia is also determined to become a global level halal producer.
also reminded that the halal lifestyle has become an integral part of the daily life of the global Muslim community."In fact, the halal lifestyle is now reaching the world's population regardless of religion or belief," said the Vice President in Shanghai, Monday .
Investment in the halal food sector is approaching almost 4 billion US dollars for the period of 2020-2021. Halal products, which are synonymous with guaranteed cleanliness, safety, and health of a product, are believed to drive global demand for halal products in the future. From a regulatory perspective, specifically Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee, halal certification is a mandate that must be implemented. This provision governs that all products that enter, circulate, and are traded in Indonesia must be halal certified.
Indonesia is currently not only interested in providing halal certification standards worldwide. Indonesia also aims to become the world's largest producer of halal products."Therefore, we are inviting entrepreneurs from various countries, especially China, to invest in halal products in Indonesia," said Vice President Amin.
Therefore, it is necessary to have certification of raw materials at the source, namely in China. However, the Vice President continued, it is hoped that eventually these raw materials can be produced in Indonesia. "I believe that the development will be much better if halal products are produced in Indonesia and enter the world market through China's trade route, of course, with halal certification both in Indonesia and China," said Djauhari.
