Police are investigating the early morning assault
Blood was reported to have spilled across a city centre street after a man was assaulted in the early hours of the morning.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was left with head and neck injuries after being assaulted on Preston's Guildhall Street on Friday morning. He was found hurt on nearby Market Place and taken to hospital for treatment. A police cordon was put in place on Guildhall Street throughout much of Friday morning with officers manning the cordon as crowds flocked to the city centre to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II. Hours later, blood could still be reportedly seen on the street.Lancashire Constabulary today told LancsLive the incident related to an assault and that no arrests have yet been made. A spokesperson said: "We were called by North West Ambulance Service to Market Place, Preston, at 5.
"The incident happened on Guildhall Street earlier in the morning. The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered head and facial injuries which required hospital treatment. No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing."READ MORE:
