A van driver has been fined £440 for driving without due care and attention on the busy A49.
Geoffrey Ashton, aged 59, was charged over his driving on the road in Shrewsbury on March 9 last year. He was behind the wheel of a Ford Transit.
Ashton, of Round Meadow, Wem, pleaded guilty at Worcester Magistrates Court to one count of driving without due care and attention. As well as the fine, magistrates ordered for six penalty points to be put on his driving licence and for Ashton to pay £254 in other court costs.
