Firefighters quickly attended the incident earlier today
Firefighters have extinguished a blaze outside a fire station in Manchester . Fire crews received reports of a van on fire on Alan Turing Way.
One fire engine from Philips Park station, which is located nearby at Briscoe Lane, attended the incident at around 12.30pm on Saturday with crews at the scene for around half an hour. Buses were diverted as emergency services dealt with the blaze. According to Stagecoach Manchester, a police vehicle blocked the road off due to the incident. No injuries were reported.A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 12.30pm on Saturday 8 June, fire crews were called to reports of a van on fire on Alan Turing Way, Manchester.
“One fire engine from Philips Park station quickly attended the incident. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
