The newly imposed U.S. restrictions on the export of certain advanced artificial intelligence chips to China are not expected to drive up prices for consumer tech products stateside, but they are expected to stifle Chinese innovation.The U.S. government rolled out the 'Interim Final Rule ' on Tuesday, tightening export controls on high-performance integrated circuits to China amidst an ongoing tech cold war.
Nvidia Corporation, a key player in the semiconductor industry, echoed a similar sentiment in a Tuesday SEC filing, saying that given the global demand for their products, they don't anticipate a near-term meaningful impact on their financial results.It should be noted that the chips affected are Nvidia's line-up including the A100, A800, H100, H800, L40, L40S, and RTX 4090, alongside systems incorporating the chips like Nvidia DGX and HGX systems.
