The common breathing condition can be triggered by fireworks displays, warn experts
Fireworks displays are taking place around the UK this weekend. But experts have warned families whose children have asthma to take extra care. That's because air pollution levels can be affected by bonfires and large fireworks display. And this could potentially trigger a 'life-threatening asthma attack.
and always keep your reliever inhaler to hand for quick relief when symptoms come on.' Dr Andrew Whittamore adds this advice for children who have asthma: 'If they are going to a display this year, they should stand well back from any bonfires or fireworks, make sure they are using their child’s preventer inhalers regularly as prescribed to build up protection in their airways over time, and have their child’s reliever inhaler with them, and spacer if they use one, at all times.
