A crash has brought traffic to a standstill on a stretch of the M1. The collision has been reported on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 22 for Coalville and junction 23 for Shepshed.
The collision was reported to Leicestershire Police at 6.20am on Tuesday, March 14. In a tweet, the force said: "Traffic on the M1 southbound from junction 23 to 22 is at a standstill due to a road traffic incident. Please find an alternative route. Updates to follow." National Highways: East Midlands has also reported the collision. Traffic cameras also show heavy traffic on the motorway.
