University of Idaho holds a vigil for students as investigators continue to gather evidence from the stabbings and process tips, but no suspect has yet been named
University of Idaho students and others gathered Wednesday evening for candlelight vigils honoring four students who were stabbed to death, as questions about the killings continue to swirl.
Stacy Chapin, Ethan’s mother, said the hardest part was “we cannot change the outcome.” Mr. Chapin was a triplet, and his two siblings also attend the University of Idaho. Speaking of her son, Ms. Chapin said, “he understood the importance [of school] and would want all of you to continue to focus on your futures and ambitions.”
Police have increased their presence in town and on campus grounds, and provided additional units at the vigil, said the Moscow Police Department. The university’s alumni, meanwhile, raised money to provide students with portable alarms.
