‘Unconscionable’: Hispanic lawmakers lambaste DPS for English-only Uvalde shooting updates

Hispanic members of Congress are demanding that the Texas Department of Public Safety also provide information pertaining to the May 24sent Friday to director Steven McCraw, House Democrats, including San Antonio Rep. Joaquin Castro, lambasted the agency for issuing most information and news briefings following the shooting at Robb Elementary School only in English.

Her family asked mourners to wear bright colors to Lexi’s funeral on Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Uvalde because Lexi loved them. Lexi’s mother, Kimberly Mata-Rubio, said Wednesday during a congressional hearing on gun safety that when her daughter knew she was right, “she stood her ground.”
