UNC Interim Chancellor Lee Roberts was praised by conservatives on social media on Tuesday after he removed a Palestinian flag hung by anti-Israel protesters on campus and replaced it with the American flag. 'This university doesn’t belong to a small group of protesters. It belongs to every citizen of North Carolina. Everybody in North Carolina, everybody who goes to school here, everybody who lives and works here. The flag represents all of us.
'They sent a strong message that that’s not going to be tolerated on that campus and I hope that that type of strong message continues.' WHITE HOUSE CONDEMNS COLUMBIA STUDENT REMARKS ABOUT ‘MURDERING ZIONISTS’: ‘A WAKEUP CALL’ The student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel, reported that once protesters raised the Palestinian flag from the UNC flagpole in Polk Place, police used pepper spray to disperse the crowd.
