Ulla Johnson opened a shop in Amagansett earlier this summer, the second following her flagship on Manhattan’s Bleecker Street, which bowed in 2017. As many designers will tell you, there’s a great freedom in owning your own store: Along with creating a world around your brand and telling its full story, you can stock whatever you want.
Mixing crafts and cultures has become a signature of Johnson’s ready-to-wear collections, and her pre-fall lineup felt particularly diverse. Native American artist T.C. Cannon informed the high-contrast color palette, with bright hits of fuchsia, yellow, and magenta popping against olive and terracotta.
