Hackers in occupied Crimea breached Russian cable channels and released a video hinting at a looming counteroffensive.

Ukrainian hackers breached Russian TV channels in occupied Crimea Sunday, broadcasting a slickly-produced video hinting at the impending start of Kyiv’s counteroffensive.

The clip ended with a shot of two fighter jets soaring in the sky – an apparent nod to Ukraine’s efforts to procure warplanes from its Western allies — and a man’s voice off camera saying: “shhh.” “We are going to find every traitor to Ukraine, wherever they might be. All of them will be destroyed,” Budanov warned. “I say to all the patriots: the time has come to act. Stay tuned. We’re coming to you. Glory to Ukraine!”

Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a rare early morning video released Monday that its forces pushed back a “large scale” assault Sunday at five points in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk province. A ministry spokesman said 250 Ukrainian personnel were killed. A Moscow-installed official in southeast Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia province says Kyiv’s forces also attempted to breach Russian defenses there but were repelled after advancing less than a quarter-mile. The Ukrainian military suggested the Russian reports were part of a misinformation campaign.

Ukraine keeps up pressure following Russian declaration of victory in BakhmutUkraine keeps up pressure following Russian declaration of victory in BakhmutDefenders of Ukraine's city of Bakhmut are keeping up the pressure even though Russian forces declared victory there after the longest, deadliest battle of the war so far. The ongoing defense gives commanders in Moscow another thing to think about ahead of an anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive. Ukraine's deputy defense minister said artillery shelling continues at levels similar to those at the height of the nine-month fight over the city. She says the battle is evolving into a new phase. Ukrainian defenders still control the western fringes of Bakhmut. From the Kremlin’s perspective, the area around the city is part of the more than 1,000-kilometer (621-mile) front line that the Russian military must hold.
