Lake DistrictBrits face a weekend washout as multiple bands of heavy rain are set to lash the country on Saturday as shown in the map abovesay up to 8mm of rain could fall every hour in southern areas today as a vast weather front arrives this afternoon.It will be a chilly start to the day for many across the country, with temperatures lingering around 7C.Despite heavy rain in the south, northern and western areas will remain largely dry throughout the day.
These areas could also see some sunny spells early on Saturday but there will be showers in western Scotland and Northern Ireland.UK weather Met Office warns Brits to brace for thunderstorms this weekend as Arctic blast plunges nation into -2C chillBy Sunday morning, this rain is expected fade away but it will remain overcast and breezy.
Sunday will see some showery spells but temperatures will remain in the low teens, with highs of 14C in Glasgow, 13C in Plymouth, 12C in Liverpool and 10C in Newcastle. From Sunday evening, much of the rain will clear and temperatures will start to lift to a balmy 16C in some southern areas.Temperatures are set to soar to 16C in some areas on Monday, giving Brits a much needed boost after a torrid month of rain.Tuesday will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain in Northern Ireland, west Scotland, Wales and south-west England.Wednesday is expected to be mostly dry but showers are possible, the Met Office say.
