If you have booked your summer holiday already make sure you are up to date
UK holidaymakers who have booked trips to Spain and Turkey have been warned about an upcoming deadline in April.
If your passport is close to its expiry date, you're being encouraged to renew it before that date to avoid paying more. The price for a standard online application will go from £82.50 to £88.50, and the cost for children's passports will increase from £53.30 to £57.50.
These prices include the cost of renewing your passport. The government has said that these price increases will 'help ensure that income from these applications better meets the cost of delivering passport and associated operations' and reduce the need for funding from taxes, reports Birmingham Live.
Even if your passport hasn't expired yet, you might still need to renew it before you go on holiday. This depends on where you're going.
