An Iranian broadcaster has been forced to close its west London headquarters following advice from the Metropolitan Police

has been forced to move to Washington DC after a “significant escalation in state-backed threats from Iran”.

Mahmood Enayat, General Manager of Iran International TV, said: “I cannot believe it has come to this. He said the force still has “serious concerns for the safety of people working at this company” despite “extraordinary security measures”, which led to the advice that the company relocate. It comes months after the Metropolitan Police warned British-Iranian journalists based in the UK of threats from Tehran that “represent an imminent, credible and significant risk to their lives and those of their families”.
