Nicholas Barr-Mira, Jack Landherr IV, Alex Johnson, Carson Schwesinger, Dovid Magna and Josiah Norwood all earned scholarships this week after walking on.
LOS ANGELES — UCLA football coach Chip Kelly announced on Wednesday morning that six walk-on players had earned scholarships with the program.
Kelly brought the six now-former walk-ons into a team meeting together and surprised the room by announcing their scholarships. The half-dozen players were met with roaring applause. Although Calvert and Schwesinger had different head coaches at Oaks, Calvert still felt some Oaks pride when learning of the walk-on’s scholarship.
There are a few new faces in the lineup and they’re all fully healthy, giving the o-line the chance to embody dominance.
