U.S. EV Charging Network Gets $2.5 Billion Boost From Biden Administration by alanohnsman
The Biden Administration is trying to get 500,000 new electric vehicle and alternative fuel stations opened across the U.S.The Biden Administration is making good on a promise to create a vastly bigger electric vehicle charging network across the U.S., particularly in lower-income or rural regions, by opening up access to $2.5 billion in additional federal funds as part of a push to cut automotive carbon emissions.
“All Americans, regardless of where they live, should have the opportunity to benefit from the lower operating costs, reduced maintenance needs and improved performance that EVs can provide,” Coes told reporters. “Achieving our long-term climate and equity goals requires the equitable deployment of EV infrastructure.”

Biden administration wants Congress to bar airlines from charging family seating feesThe Biden administration on Monday asked U.S. lawmakers to approve legislation to bar airlines from charging family seating fees if adjacent seats are available during booking. U.S. Transportation Secretary (USDOT) Pete Buttigieg wrote lawmakers and sent them draft legislation that would ban airlines from charging an accompanying adult to sit next to children 13 or younger if certain conditions are met.
