The Red Hands face the winners of Monaghan and Cavan with Derry and Donegal also on same side of the draw as the 2021 All-Ireland champions
The Ulster championship draw on Saturday certainly has a lopsided look about it and, while Armagh certainly won’t be taking things for granted, they will be warm favourites to reach the provincial decider.
Monaghan take on Cavan in the preliminary round with the winners meeting 2021 All Ireland champions Tyrone while the other quarter final is the tie of the round between holders Derry and Donegal. Tyrone Captain Paudie Hampsey is well aware of the challenge facing the Red Hands in 2024.“Ulster football is a minefield as we all know,” said Hampsey. There are a lot of teams who can beat anybody on their day and if you aren’t at your best you could be in trouble.
With former Tyrone boss Mickey Harte and All Ireland winner Gavin Devlin now at the helm with Derry they face a Donegal side who will be buoyed by the fact that 2012 All Ireland winning manager Jim McGuinness is back in charge.
