Two women charged with culpable homicide after Scots security guard ‘dies of heart attack’
Two women have appeared in court charged with culpable homicide after a security guard died at a Scots department store.
A 62-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later with his death being treated as ‘unexplained’ by investigators. It is understood that he suffered a heart attack after an alleged ‘altercation’. The Daily Record can reveal that a mother and daughter have now appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court after being charged in connection with the death. Teresa Gordon, 57, and Nicola Gordon, 35, of Kirkcaldy, both face a culpable homicide allegation as well as a charge each of theft by shoplifting.
Teresa Gordon faces an additional charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner. The case has been submitted for further examination by prosecutors while both women have been released on bail in the meantime.The status read: "Due to bereavement, we will be closed the remainder of today and also tomorrow Saturday January 7th. Apologies for any inconvenience."
