Liam Thomas and Henry Houghton were both handed life sentences after trials
It was another busy week before the courts of the North West with two murder sentencings taking place.
Thomas, who was Ms Shaw's new partner, went outside at 11.30pm and confronted his older cousin. The two men were said to have grappled with one another before Thomas stabbed Mr Horton three times in full view of a number of horrified residents, who had been alerted by the commotion outside. Houghton and another male were together throughout the evening and spent time drinking at pubs around the town. Shortly before midnight on July 28, the pair went to an alleyway off Railway Road where Houghton admitted he took ketamine and supplied cocaine to another man.
Three people were arrested, including Whitelock-Wainwright. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property and was sentenced to four years in prison.A paedophile groomed two young girls and tried to coax them into lurid sex acts. It was the third time he had reportedly attacked a girlfriend. In February 2019, he was given a three year sentence after he broke into his former partner's house, grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her.
He went into Anfield Cemetery on Priory Road, where he was arrested. While being questioned, he said he had attacked "a degenerate” in the cemetery, quoted religious text and recited the Lord's Prayer. He refused to provide his name, simply calling himself 'Jesus'.
