Officers said the riders 'nearly hit a crossing pedestrian'
Two cyclists were stopped by police officers after they 'rode through a red light' in south Manchester.
Officers stopped the riders on busy Wilmslow Road yesterday . They reportedly rode through the red light before 'nearly hitting a crossing pedestrian'. Both cyclists were issued with a traffic offence report, police said. In a post on the GMP Fallowfield, Withington, Levenshulme and Burnage Facebook last night, police warned cyclists 'must follow the rules regarding traffic lights'.The post said: "Today, on Wilmslow Road, 2 cyclists were stopped and issued Traffic Offence Reports after riding though a red traffic light and nearly hitting a crossing pedestrian.
"Cyclists must remember that as per the Highway Code, the rules regarding traffic lights must be complied with."Read more of today's top stories here
