A pair of Galveston County women are looking for a few good quilts.
Well, they are actually looking for more than a few.
The quilts are on display in the public art gallery at the city’s civic center, 400 W. Walker. Hours are 8 a.m-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to noon. “So many veterans came to speak with me after the quilt was awarded,” she said. “They wanted to pay me for a quilt. I told them the quilts are a gift in thanks for their service and sacrifice.
While the drive is intended to distribute quilts to veterans, they don’t have to have a patriotic theme. The pair plan on continuing giving out quilts long after Nov. 11.
