Of those who said they would vote for Trump, 94% said it was because of his past performance as president. Another 94% said it's because he fights for people like them, and 84% said it was because he could beat President Joe Biden. For voters who said they wouldn't vote for Trump, 65% said it's because they"like other candidates more," 54% said it was because Trump is"too controversial," and 50% said it was because of"how he deals with political opponents." Additionally, 49% of those not voting for Trump said he makes them feel"exhausted.
The CBS News/YouGov poll surveyed 2,372 U.S. adult residents from April 27-29 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.4 percentage points.
