Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale plans to present the president with options for an upcoming campaign tour this week.
President Trump is set to return to his campaign's signature rallies in the next two weeks after a three-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. Advisers to the president's re-election campaign are still parsing through locations and venues for the traditionally packed rallies, as well as safety measures to be implemented.
In nationwide and battleground state match-ups, the president's poll numbers have sunk amid his handling of the pandemic and the civil unrest following the death of George Floyd. In a CBS News poll released Tuesday, Joe Biden is leading Mr. Trump, 47% to 43%. "The CDC certainly does not have guidelines for large gatherings of over 10,000 people," said CBS News medical contributor Dr. David Agus."I don't know of any state guidelines that would enable that."
