Bill McLoughlin has died at the age of 91
Tributes have been paid to a much-loved Rawtenstall businessman and great-grandfather remembered as a man who was "always cracking a joke". Bill McLoughlin of Woodlea, Waterfoot passed away from aspiration pneumonia at Royal Blackburn Hospital on July 4, aged 91.
The former Alder Grange student was head boy and the captain of the football team at his school. His family said he had a great love for football and at just the age of 15 he was captain of Rossendale Boys Football. When he retired, Bill helped Peter with maintenance work for his businesses. Bill and his wife of more than 40 years, Katie, enjoyed many adventures together including trips to Dubai, America and Spain.
