Trial testimony: DNA of accused ‘does match’ sample from San Antonio cold case killing

Bexar County prosecutor Kristen Mulliner, right, talks with colleague Talia Triesch at the capital murder trial of Larry Leroy Moore on Thursday in 175th District Court. Moore is accused of raping and killing Dianna Lowery, 25, in San Antonio on Jan. 29, 1987.A Bexar County forensic science expert testified Thursday that DNA from a man accused of a 1987 rape and killing in San Antonio could not be excluded from a sample collected from the victim after the crime.

Martin found Lowery dead in the bathtub when he got home from work. She was wearing her bathrobe and socks and had abrasions on her face. Foster was the last of the state’s witnesses before prosecutors Triesch and Kristen Mulliner rested their case Thursday. Garon Foster, a supervisor in the Bexar County Crime Lab, testifies at the capital murder trial of Larry Leroy Moore on Thursday in 175th District Court. Moore is accused of raping and killing Dianna Lowery, 25, in San Antonio on Jan. 29, 1987.The samples from the rape kit were tested at least three times, Foster said, and Moore “was not excluded as a donor of the Y chromosome” that was present.
