Donald Trump's trial over his alleged mishandling of classified documents has been set for May 2024, right in the middle of the Republican presidential primary and six months ahead of the general election
WASHINGTON, July 21 - Former President Donald Trump's trial over his alleged mishandling of classified documents will begin on May 20 next year, according to a U.S. court order on Friday.
A Trump spokesperson said the trial schedule "allows President Trump and his legal team to continue fighting" the criminal case.
