This beautiful site is one of the largest reserves in the East Midlands, and truly does have something for everyone. I had never been to this 375-hectare site before, but after seeing some positive reviews online I decided to spend an afternoon there with my family and see what it was like.
There are several walks around the site, including a lovely wheelchair and pushchair-friendly lakeside walk and a brass rubbing trail. If you have young children you should make sure to stop by the treehouse play area, and we also came across a self-led den-building area which is a great idea. From nipping into the cafe afterwards we also spotted that you can hire a kid's discovery backpack from the shop so they can explore even more.
