Train services through Telford are cancelled after a landslip blocked the tracks at Oakengates.
A West Midlands Rail statement said:"A landslip in the Oakengates area means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton will be cancelled or revised."Rail replacement buses are operating between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton."From Shrewsbury at XX.00, except the last service will depart at 22.40.Network Rail confirmed that the line is closed over the weekend due to pre-planned engineering work.
A spokesperson from Network Rail said: “We’re sorry to passengers affected by ongoing disruption between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton due to a landslip west of Oakengates station in Telford which occurred this morning. For safety reasons our engineers have closed the railway in both directions while assessments take place to understand the scale of repairs needed.
