Traffic slowed on U.S. 75 in Allen after 18-wheeler crashes off overpass

Motorists should expect major delays after a tractor-trailer drove off an overpass Tuesday afternoon in Allen and became engulfed in flames as it landed on the road below. It appeared the tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 75 when it collided with another vehicle just before 3 p.m., according to Allen police.No other injuries have been reported.
Plumes of black smoke could be seen for miles as traffic backed up in both directions of U.S. Highway 75 near Stacy Road. The east service road from Cabela’s Drive to Stacy Road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time, said Allen police, who advised people to seek alternate routes.
