Heading to Greece or Italy? Here is what you need to know this summer.
Tourists heading to Greece and Italy have been warned that they need to check one thing before they think about heading to the airport - their passport.
For example, for some areas, your passport must be valid for at least three months after the day you plan to leave. Fear not though if you have a burgundy passport or ‘European Union’ on the cover as you can still use it as long as it’s valid for travel, the Foreign Office confirms. Greece passport validity requirements If you are planning to travel to an EU country , or Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican City, you must follow the Schengen area passport requirements which can be found here.The Foreign Office states that if your passport was issued before October 1 2018, extra months may have been added to its expiry date.

Greece Offers 'Free' Holidays to Evacuated Tourists from RhodesGreece is compensating tourists who were forced to flee Rhodes after wildfires by offering them 'free' holidays.
