Andy Townsend believes Tottenham star Heung Min Son should not be considered a Premier League legend
Heung-Min Son continues to create history with Tottenham, but he shouldn't be considered a Premier League legend.It was the South Korean star's 160th goal for the club, coming with four minutes of normal time remaining against the Hatters and boosting Ange Postecoglou's hopes of a top-four finish.With only former teammate Harry Kane , Jimmy Greaves , Bobby Smith , and Martin Chivers ahead of him, he's a modern icon in N17.
But it appears this is not good enough for him to be called a Premier League legend, according to ex-Chelsea midfielder Townsend. Asked if winning some medals would help earn him the label, he told talkSPORT Breakfast: "He is a top player, he's a great; that word 'legend' should only be used in the right context.
The 31-year-old has, in fact, been worth 12 points to Spurs this season, with five of his 15 efforts proving to be the winning goal.Speaking about his place in the history books with Tottenham, Son said: "I hadn't even realised how many goals I'd scored. "Playing for one club for almost 10 years is an incredible feeling and a big honour for me.
