Philippe Clement has favoured John Souttar and Connor Goldson with Leon Balogun and Leon King also in reserve.
There is a new face in the door at Rangers and while it is not a player, he will be helping them identify new arrivals.
Balogun, out of contract in the summer, would be 36 if offered fresh terms while Goldson is also 32 at the end of this year. Looking at that alone, Fergie reckons a fresh face in that area of the park will make up part of the summer wish list for Clement. Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: “I think he’s the type of manager who looks at the spine of his team and that’s the most important part. I think those are areas of the pitch that Rangers will be looking to strengthen.
Clement said: "Ridvan is still missing, not long-term but not fit for this game. It's a matter of days, not weeks for him. Ryan Jack, we are looking at other solutions to get him back, it is a long-term calf issue and I don't want to risk bringing him back and causing a further injury - we are looking at long-term solutions."
