Los Tucanes de Tijuana first came together in the early ’80s, moving from family parties to clubs and eventually the likes of RodeoHouston.

The group has released more than two dozen albums, led by singer and songwriter Mario Quintero Lara. Between 1996 and 1997 they had six albums simultaneously appear on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. Their sound is rooted in norteño but has expanded over the years. The group has earned five Grammy nominations and won a Latin Grammy in 2012. In 2019, Los Tucanes became the first regional Mexican group to perform at Coachella.

Tucanes is the Spanish-language word for toucan, the vibrant bird many of us know from cereal boxes. Expect the group’s second rodeo show to be appropriately colorful.
