The former Glasgow MSP revealed the heartbreaking news in a Tweet posted in the early hours of this morning.
"She was everything to us. Our inspiration and muse. She fought against injustice all her life. Rest In Eternal Peace Mum." He tweeted: "This is dreadful news. It’s bad enough to lose your mum, it’s especially difficult when it’s so sudden but when it’s in these circumstances it’s devastating.Former leader of Glasgow City Council, Frank McAveety said: "Such sad news Tommy. Losing your mum is the hardest to cope with.
