Tim Walton will be paid $700,000 as Ohio State’s new secondary/cornerbacks coach while Perry Eliano will be paid $450,000 as the Buckeyes’ new safeties coach.
New Ohio State secondary/cornerbacks coach Tim Walton will be paid a base salary of $700,000 in 2022 while new safeties coach Perry Eliano will receive a base salary of $450,000.
Both new assistant coaches signed two-year contracts with Ohio State and will be eligible for raises in 2023. Both coaches’ contracts also include incentives that are standard for all Ohio State assistant coaches, including bonuses for winning the Big Ten East , winning the Big Ten Championship Game , making a New Year’s Six game , making a non-CFP bowl game and winning at least nine games , making a College Football Playoff semifinal and making the national championship game .
Eliano will be making more than twice as much as he did last year at Cincinnati, where he was paid $215,000 to be the Bearcats’ cornerbacks coach in 2021, though he will not make as much as previous secondary coach Matt Barnes, who was paid $600,000 last season. Walton and Eliano are two of four new assistant coaches for the Buckeyes along with defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, who is now Ohio State’s highest-paid assistant coach ever with a
