The UK's favourite curry has been named as chicken tikka masala, according to a poll of 2,000 adults
The dish took the top spot in a survey of 2,000 adults, beating out milder options like korma and butter chicken, which came in second and third respectively.
Following the poll, Paddy McGuinness collaborated with the yogurt brand and Masterchef 2024 winner, Brin Pirathapan, to create a 'Curry In a Hurry' menu for its 'Feed Your Inner Happiness' campaign. Other popular choices include biryani and rogan josh, rounding off the top five, while jalfrezi, Balti, madras, bhuna, and saag complete the top 10. Given its popularity, it's no surprise that tikka masala has been attempted the most, followed by korma and madras .
'Those who make curry at home will typically spend 45 minutes making the dish, with 34 per cent preparing the meal from scratch and 35 per cent using ready-made sauces .However, the research carried out through OnePoll found that 58 per cent believe curries made at home are never as good as restaurant or takeaway offerings.
