Scotland and other large parts of the UK are expecting a lot of adverse weather this afternoon and into the evening as a thunderstorm warning has been issued.
Scotland has been issued a yellow warning for heavy downpours and thunderstorms as the Met Office weighs in on the upcoming weather patterns.
Due to the high volume of rain, the Met Office has warned people to prepare for delays to trains, bus services and other public transport. Power cuts could also occur due to lightning strikes as people have been urged to prepare. Temperatures will rise to 17C near Fort William this afternoon by 4pm, with the central belt seeing highs of 15C by the same time. This weather alert was issued earlier this morning and warns that anyone at risk of flash flooding should prepare accordingly.
