The UK faces the threat of rail strike action continuing throughout 2023 after rail union boss Mick Lynch said another ballot allowing walkouts to run until November is a “possibility.”that rail workers could be re-balloted to allow strike action to run for another six months from the end of May if a deal cannot be reached with the train companies and the Government.
Mr Lynch said that strikes could continue on a weekly or monthly basis until the mandate runs out if no progress is made during the talks.: “These things are all possible, we are seeking negotiations and an agreement, that’s what negotiations are for, we go to these meetings in the spirit of goodwill and trying to get an agreement our members can support. If we can’t get an agreement the campaign is still live.
